Loyalsock Township School District announced Oct. 19 that a Commended Student designation was awarded to someone from Loyalsock Township High School in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
According to the district, a Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation was presented by the high school’s principals. The district said about 34,000 students nationwide were recognized as Commended Students for their academic promise.
The district said Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 entrants after taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They will not continue in the 2027 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards.
